Slippers, blankets, shoehorns, eye masks and other amenities are available to ensure you spend your time on board in comfort.
Newspapers, magazines, timetables, etc. are also available for reading.

Information for “Gran Class (No Beverage or Light Meal Service)” trains

In order to make the calm and refined premium cabin space readily available, “Gran Class (No Beverage and Snack Service)” trains offer seating only.
These trains do not have a Gran Class Attendant on board and do not offer Light Meal, drinks or wet towel service, etc.

Applicable trains

Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen (Series E5 and H5)

  • All “Nasuno” trains
  • All “Hayabusa”, “Hayate” and “Yamabiko” trains departing from Tokyo and bound for Sendai or departing from Sendai and bound for Tokyo*
  • All “Hayabusa” and “Hayate” trains departing from Sendai, Morioka or Shin-Aomori and bound for Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto, and all “Hayabusa” and “Hayate” trains departing from Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto and bound for Sendai, Morioka or Shin-Aomori
  • Some special trains

Hokuriku Shinkansen (Series E7 and W7) and Joetsu Shinkansen (Series E7)

  • [Hokuriku Shinkansen] All “Asama” trains
  • [Hokuriku Shinkansen] All "Hakutaka" trains departing from Nagano and bound for Kanazawa, and all "Hakutaka" trains departing from Kanazawa and bound for Nagano
  • [Joetsu Shinkansen] All "Toki" and "Tanigawa" trains operated on Series E7

About amenities, on-board sales, etc.

  • A blanket is available in the hat rack in the cabin.
     *Please refrain from taking the blanket with you when you leave.
  • Shoehorns, eye masks, etc., are not available.
  • On-board sales are not offered on some trains. Check the timetable, or listen for announcements on the train for the availability of on-board sales.
  • Please be advised that attendants and on-board sales are not available, even if you press the attendant call button on your seat.

How to distinguish “Gran Class (No Beverage and Light Meal Service)” trains

Look for the Gran Class icon on the JR timetable to see whether service is provided on the train or not.

Gran Class (with Beverage and Light Meal Service)

On-board service (Light Meal, drinks, wet towel service, etc.) is provided.

Gran Class (No Beverage and Light Meal Service)

There is no Gran Class Attendant on board and services such as Light Meal, drinks and wet towel service are not provided.
