The continued suspension of Gran Class onboard services
As a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (the novel coronavirus), although the sale of all Gran Class tickets had been suspended until June 30, the suspension of ticket sales and services will continue until further notice.
We hope that you will appreciate that only a limited number of light meals are available.
In cases where we are unable to offer a light meal or the like, we will provide the passengers concerned with a substitute item which they will be able to use after they have disembarked.
Gran Class service is offered on Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen (Series E5 and H5 ), Hokuriku Shinkansen (Series E7 and W7 ), Joetsu Shinkansen (Series E7).
*Trains offering “Gran Class (No Beverage and Light Meal Service)” do not have a Gran Class Attendant on board and do not offer snacks, drinks or wet towel, etc.
On-board sales are not offered on some trains.
Check the timetable, or listen for announcements on the train for the availability of on-board sales.
