Increasing the Engagement
of All Group Employees

Engagement

We will make our Group companies places where each of the Group’s diverse employees can demonstrate their abilities in a challenging and rewarding environment.

  • 3. Good health and well-being
  • 4. Quality education
  • 5. Gender equality
  • 8. Decent work and economic growth
  • 10. Reduced inequalities

Basic Concept

The strength of the Group lies in the diverse perspectives and values that reflect the attributes, such as work experience, age, and gender, knowledge, and skills of our employees. By enhancing engagement through a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment at work, and maximizing each employee's potential, we will create new value for the Group and help realize enriched lives for our employees.
In addition, for a diverse workforce to make maximum use of their respective abilities, it is essential that they are physically and mentally healthy. To this end, we will promote the health of our employees and the creation of safe, comfortable, and accident-free workplaces.

Promotion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

We have established the JR EAST Group DEI Policy as the basic guidelines for how our Group promotes DEI.

JR EAST Group DEI Policy

The JR EAST Group promotes DEI as one of the important foundations of our goal to enrich the lifestyles of all people. By having all our Group employees take on leading roles to tackle challenges and further build the trust we’ve gained through our diligent and sincere daily efforts, we aim to become a corporate group that grows and goes beyond the norm.

Improving Safety and Quality
We will work to hone the diverse ability to notice complex new risks that arise due to changes in the business environment and customers’ various issues, creating a culture where we can share about such issues as an organization. Once identified, we will work together as a Group to solve said issue through active communication.
Promoting Dual-Axis Management
As we promote dual-axis management and expand into new business areas, we will actively acquire and train personnel with diverse backgrounds, expertise, and skillsets to handle new types of needs and risks while creating environments for them to leverage their strengths and thrive by further promoting integration and collaboration.
Encouraging Employees to Take on Challenges
We will further cultivate a corporate culture that encourages employees to take on new challenges. By improving employees’ engagement and creating an environment to develop their desired careers, we’ll bring out the full potential of the Group’s strength—our employees.
Workstyle Reforms
We will conduct workstyle reforms to flexibly handle technological innovations and changes in workers’ values, creating a system where more people can thrive at work, regardless of their age or gender.

  • Empowerment of diverse personnel

Policy
