Approximately 3 hours 10 minutes from Tokyo to Shin-Aomori on the Tōhoku Shinkansen
Located at the northern tip of Honshu, Aomori Prefecture has many popular tourist spots such as Hirosaki Castle with its renowned cherry blossoms, and Oirase Stream with its natural beauty in spring and brilliant tree colors in fall. Aomori is famous for events such as the summertime Nebuta Festival and its wintertime snow lantern festival, as well as specialty products, particularly its apples.
