We have adopted universal design principles in line with the brand image of N'EX (airport limited express) to create comfort and security.
Facilities
Features and a design suited for limited express access to airports. In-car facilities have been further enhanced, making transportation from Narita Airport even more comfortable.
Luggage storage area *No reservation required
Security cameras are installed near the doorways and in the luggage compartment areas. The luggage compartment areas of each train is fitted with a dial-type lock. Additionally, we are installing emergency alert devices in the trains that allow for communication with crew members to improve security.
Multilingual support available
Installed onboard are large LCD guidance devices that provide information including information about destinations, service statuses, news, weather reports, and flight information (inbound trains) in four languages (English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese).

Safe for wheelchair users and those with children
Many accessibility-related measures have been implemented including a large Western-style toilet for users of electric wheelchairs, low-hanging luggage racks, and minimized gaps between platforms and trains.

The N'EX is made up of Green Cars (first class) and Ordinary Cars. Please relax in the comfortable interior and as appropriate to what you require.

The Narita Express has overhead luggage racks and storage areas for large luggage.
The large luggage area does not require a reservation.
However, space is limited, so it is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Depending on the size and shape of your luggage, it may not fit.
If the large luggage area is full, please place your luggage at your feet.

As shown above, you can use the ticket for different stations.
However, there are rules for how the ticket can be used.
- • For the outbound trip, use the ticket from Narita Airport → Tokyo (Central Tokyo: Tokyo and the surrounding area, including Yokohama and Ōfuna)
- • For the return trip, use the ticket from Tokyo (Central Tokyo: Tokyo and the surrounding area, including Yokohama and Ōfuna) → Narita Airport

The reverse is not permitted (Tokyo → Narita Airport for the outbound trip and Narita Airport → Tokyo for the return trip).

The N'EX TOKYO Round Trip Ticket is not an unlimited pass.
You can only use it twice.
(Example)
- • First trip: Narita Airport → JR stations in Tokyo and the surrounding area
- • Second trip: JR stations in Tokyo and the surrounding area → Narita Airport
After riding the Narita Express, you can transfer to other JR trains and travel to any station covered by the ticket at no extra cost as long as you do not exit the ticket gates.
The same applies to the return trip. As long as you do not exit the ticket gates, you can transfer from another JR train to the Narita Express.
*Note
Once you exit the ticket gates, the ticket can no longer be used.

If you think you may miss your train or expect to arrive early, please visit the JR East website(Opens in a new window) to cancel your current reservation and reserve a different train. If you miss your reserved train, you can take a later train on the same day without changing your ticket.
However, you will not have an assigned seat. Please take any available seat.
If a passenger with a reservation for that seat arrives, you must give up the seat.
