  • Reserved seats in ordinary cars of the following express trains with through operations between JR EAST and Tobu Railway lines: Nikko, Kinugawa, and SPACIA Kinugawa trains.
  • This pass can also be used on the Tobu Railway local trains (including rapid services) from Shimo-imaichi to Tōbu-nikkō and Kinugawa-onsen.
    Between Kurihashi and Shimo-imaichi, you can only use limited express trains that run through to Tobu Railway. **

  • BRT refers to a Bus Rapid Transit system.
  • The JR EAST PASS can only be used for limited express trains that have through services directly from the JR line to the Tobu Railway.
    The pass cannot be used for limited express trains that both begin and end at Tobu Railway stations. (When riding a limited express train from Tochigi Station, Shin-kanuma Station, Shimo-imaichi Station, Tōbu-nikkō Station, Tobu World Square Station, or Kinugawa-onsen Station, the departure or arrival station must be a JR station.)

Please note

  • The JR EAST PASS cannot be used for the Tokaido Shinkansen. (This is because the Tokaido Shinkansen is run by another company)
  • The pass cannot be used for the Izu Kyuko Line or Fujikyu Railway Line. (Because they are outside of the valid area)
  • Gala Yuzawa Station only operates during the winter and spring.​ ​

Ex: A trip from Narita Airport to Sendai and Aomori via Tōkyō Station

The total fare for an adult riding the Narita Express (Narita Airport Terminal 1 Station to Tōkyō Station) and the Tōhoku Shinkansen (Tōkyō Station to Sendai Station + Sendai Station to Shin-Aomori Station) with ordinary car reserved seats is ¥52,000.

With a JR EAST PASS, this route costs:
¥35,000 for 5 days
or ¥50,000 for 10 days
for more affordable travel options!

Please note

  • The age of a child is defined as the age on the date of purchase. A passport or other such document is required to prove a child’s age.
  • Children under 6 years old who do not require seat reservations do not need a pass.
  • A separate fee is applicable if you wish to use the Green Car or GranClass.
  • Youth fares (including student discount) are not offered for this pass.
  • While visiting Japan, you can only use one JR EAST PASS at a time. (You can’t purchase the same pass again if the validity periods overlap)
