The largest city in the Tohoku region, Sendai, is located in Miyagi Prefecture. Among the prefecture's abundance of natural scenic beauty are Matsushima—one of the three most famous views of Japan— and the breathtaking Zao. Blessed with mountains and the sea, Miyagi has a treasure trove of fresh foods. Some of the favorites are beef tongue from Sendai, shark fin from Kesennuma, and oysters from Matsushima.

During the summer, this lake is covered in large lotus flowers. In winter, you can enjoy the spectacular scene and sound of hundreds of thousands of migratory birds as they take to the skies.
Zao Fox Village is home to more than 100 foxes of six different species and is one of the few places in the world where visitors can interact with them.
Matsushima Bay is known as one of the three most famous views of Japan. Take a tour around Matsushima Bay on a large sightseeing boat and see the 260 plus islands decorating the bay.
