Matsushima Bay is known as one of the three most famous views of Japan. Take a tour around Matsushima Bay on a large sightseeing boat and see the 260 plus islands decorating the bay. There are also many famous sightseeing spots, such as Zuiganji Temple and Godaido Temple, both closely related to Masamune Date, and plenty of places to savor local delicacies such as oysters and beef tongue skewers. Enjoy a journey full of history and culinary delights.

2 Days 1 Night Model Course

First Day

9:00	Take the Tōhoku Shinkansen from Tōkyō Station.
10:30	Arrive at Sendai Station.
11:00	Take the Senseki Line from Sendai Station
11:30	Arrive at Hon-Shiogama Station​
12:00	Enjoy sushi lunch and take a walk around Hon-Shiogama Station
14:00	Board a sight-seeing boat from Marine Gate Shiogama (10-minute walk from Hon-Shiogama Station)
15:00	Arrive at the Matsushima Kaigan Rest House
15:30	Visit the Entsuin Temple, Zuiganji Temple, and Godaido Temple. Enjoy making your own Juzu (beadroll).
17:30	Arrive at an inn in Matsushima (Matsushima Onsen). Enjoy dinner and stay for a night.

Second Day

9:00	Enjoy shopping at the Matsushima Fish Market.
11:00	Enjoy lunch at an oyster bar or a beef tongue skewers place.
13:00	Take the Senseki Line from Matsushimakaigan Station to Sendai Station.
13:30	Visit the Zuihoden Temple  (15-minute bus ride from Sendai Station, and 5-minute walk from Zuihoden-mae bus stop).
15:00	Treat yourself to some  Zunda mochi teatime around Sendai Station.

The first day's highlights include the Okama, a circular crater lake symbolic of the Zao Mountains. The lake is also known as the Goshikinuma, the five-color lake with a mysterious natural beauty, as the surface of the lake changes color depending on the weather and other factors. Enjoy a stay in Togatta Onsen, which overlooks the breathtaking backdrop of the Zao Mountains. The second day includes a visit to a unique zoo where more than 100 foxes live free-range in the wilderness, and JR Fruit Park Sendai Arahama, a tourist farm where you can pick seasonal fruits throughout the year. Enjoy a trip filled with nature and plenty of activities.

2 Days 1 Night Model Course

First Day

8:00	Take the Tōhoku Shinkansen from Tōkyō Station.
10:00	Transfer at Sendai Station and head to Shiroishizaō Station (enjoy a light meal on the train).
10:30	Take the Miyagi Transportation Bus from Shiroishizaō Station to Zao Katta Sancho bus stop.
12:00	Take a walk around the Okama Crater.
13:00	Take the Miyagi Transportation Bus from Zao Katta Sancho bus stop to Shiroishi Station.
14:30	Enjoy a late lunch around Shiroishi Station​(Shiroishi Umen noodles).
16:30	Take the Miyagi Transportation Bus from Shiroishi Station to Togatta Onsen.
17:30	Arrive and stay at Togatta Onsen for one night.

Second Day

9:00	Take a taxi or a Takeya Kotsu bus to Togatta Onsen (about 20 minutes).Zao Fox Village.
10:00	Take a taxi (about 20 minutes) or a Takeya Kotsu bus to Shiroishizaō Station
10:30	Take the Tōhoku Shinkansen to Sendai Station from Shiroishizaō Station.
11:00	Arrive at Sendai Station.
11:30	Enjoy a sushi lunch around Sendai Station.
12:30	Take the Sendai Subway from Sendai Station to Arai Station (about 15 minutes).
	Take the Sendai City bus (about 15 minutes) and walk for about 5 minutes toJR Fruit Park Sendai Arahama.
13:30	Enjoy fruit picking and shopping at JR Fruit Park Sendai Arahama.
15:00	Treat yourself to some afternoon teatime at Les Pommes.
16:00	Take the Sendai City Bus or Sendai Subway to Sendai Station.

  Minamisanriku Kirakira Don

  The fish market in Minamisanriku, closed due to the 2011 tsunami, has reopened, and Minamisanriku kirakira don, a rice bowl with octopus and sea urchin from southern Sanriku is once again available. Enjoy the fresh seafood of southern Sanriku, such as harutsuge don with octopus and silver salmon in spring, uni don in summer, akiuma don with returning bonito and fresh eel in autumn, and ikura (salmon egg) don in winter.

  Beef Tongue

  When talking about Sendai cuisine, one can't forget gyutan (beef tongue), which is recognized in Japan as a traditional dish of Sendai. You can find it at over 100 restaurants in the city. Charcoal-grilled tongue with oxtail soup and mugigohan (white rice and barley), it is said that the more you chew, the better it tastes. Don't miss this Sendai specialty!
