Q.

Do the outbound and return routes of the N'EX TOKYO Round Trip Ticket need to be the same?
For example:

  • ・Outbound: From Narita Airport Terminal 1 Station to Shinjuku Station
  • ・Return: From Tōkyō Station to Narita Airport Terminal 1 Station
A.

Outbound and return stations do not need to be the same. For instance, you may use the N'EX TOKYO Round Trip Ticket to travel from Narita Airport Terminal 1 Station to Shinjuku Station, and then use your return ticket to travel from Tōkyō Station back to Narita Airport Terminal 1 Station.

However, the first ticket must be used from Narita Airport to central Tōkyō, and the second for the return. You cannot use this round-trip ticket to travel from Tōkyō to Narita Airport first.

Q.

Can I use the N'EX TOKYO Round Trip Ticket to board other trains on the same day I ride the Narita Express?

A.

The N'EX TOKYO Round Trip Ticket is a round-trip ticket, not an unlimited-ride pass. Therefore, it can only be used twice: the first trip from Narita Airport to a JR station within the “Tōkyō and surrounding area,” and the second for the return journey from that area back to Narita Airport.

After boarding the Narita Express, you can transfer to other JR lines and get off at any station within the designated area at no extra cost, provided you do not exit the ticket gates. Similarly, for your return journey, you can board a JR train from any station within the area and transfer to the Narita Express. Please note that the ticket will become invalid if you exit the ticket gates at any point during your journey.
