  • Reserved seats in ordinary cars of the following express trains with through operations between JR EAST and Tobu Railway lines: Nikko, Kinugawa, and SPACIA Kinugawa trains.
  • You can also use regular trains (including rapid trains) from Shimo-imaichi to Tobu-nikko and Kinugawa-onsen on the Tobu Railway line.
    Between Kurihashi and Shimo-imaichi, you can only use limited express trains that run through to Tobu Railway. *
  • The only limited express trains you can use with the JR TOKYO Wide Pass are through trains from JR lines to Tobu Railway lines. You cannot use limited express trains whose first and last stations are Tobu Railway stations.

Please note

  • You cannot use the JR TOKYO Wide Pass to travel on the Tokaido Shinkansen. (This is because the Tokaido Shinkansen is operated by a different company)
  • On Fujikyu Railway, you must take a numbered ticket when you board the observation car of the Fujisan Express (separate fare applies). A seating ticket is required when you board the Fuji Tozan Densha (separate fare applies).
  • Gala Yuzawa Station only operates during the winter and spring.​ ​

How much can I save?

E.g. Trip to GALA Yuzawa / Nikko from Tokyo Station

The total fare for an adult using the Joetsu Shinkansen (Tokyo Station to GALA Yuzawa(Seasonal) Station/GALA Yuzawa(Seasonal) Station to Omiya Station) and the Nikko express train (Omiya Station to Tobu-nikko Station / Tobu-nikko Station to Shinjuku Station) with reserved seats is about ¥21,000.

If you use a JR TOKYO Wide Pass,
you can take the same journey for ¥15,000! This pass is valid for three days, so you can stay overnight during your trip.

Please note

  • The age of a child is defined as the age on the date of purchase. A passport or other such document is required to prove a child’s age.
  • Children under 6 years old who do not require seat reservations do not need a pass.
  • A separate fee is applicable if you wish to use the Green Car or GranClass.
  • Youth fares (including student discount) are not offered for this pass.
  • You can only use one JR TOKYO Wide Pass at a time while travelling in Japan. (You cannot purchase two of the same type of pass if their validity periods overlap)
