Suica Green Car Ticket Refunds
If you purchased a Suica Green Car Ticket but don’t need to use it, you can receive a refund via the Welcome Suica Mobile app.
If you can’t sit because the Green Car seats are full, let the attendant on board know. They’ll issue you the certificate needed to get a refund.

Notes
- If you have an unused Suica Green Car Ticket and buy another Suica Green Car Ticket, the data for your original Suica Green Car Ticket will be deleted and you will no longer be able to use or get a refund for it.
- Even when refunding a Suica Green Car Ticket purchased by mistake, the refund will be issued to the Apple Pay account used at the time of purchase, minus a processing fee (220 yen).
When the Green Car is Full or Service is Suspended
If you purchased a Suica Green Car Ticket but rode in an Ordinary Car because the Green Car was full or service was suspended, let the attendant know. They will check your purchase details and issue you a “Certificate of Non-Use” to have the Suica Green Car Ticket refund processing fee waived.

Refund process when a “Certificate of Non-Use” has been issued
- Receive a “Certificate of Non-Use” from the attendant in the Green Car.
- Please present this certificate and the device you purchased the Suica Green Car Ticket on at the ticket gate of a station within the Suica area.
Notes
- Please complete the two steps above at a station before purchasing another Suica Green Car Ticket. If you purchase a new Suica Green Car Ticket before this process, you won’t be able to receive a refund.
- If you receive a “Certificate of Non-Use” and then apply for a Suica Green Car Ticket refund via the Welcome Suica Mobile app, you will still be charged the related processing fee (220 yen).
