Purchasing a Green Car ticket

You can purchase a Suica Green Car Ticket via the Welcome Suica Mobile app.

Please purchase your ticket before boarding a Green Car.

If you have not purchased a Suica Green Car Ticket before the attendant checks your ticket on board, you will be charged the regular ticket fare, which is different from the in-app price.

* You cannot pay using stored fare (SF) e-money.

Purchasing a new Suica Green Car Ticket

Purchasing a new ticket

  1. Open the Welcome Suica Mobile app
  2. Tap Buy a Ticket on the Home tab.
  3. Open the Suica Green Car Ticket menu and tap Buy a new Ticket.
  4. Select your departure and arrival stations using the map or popular stations list, or enter the station name directly, and tap Next.
  5. Check the travel section, date of travel, and price on the checkout screen and tap the Choose a Payment Method button.

Purchasing a Suica Green Car Ticket again

You can use your Suica Green Car Ticket purchase history (from your past ten purchases) to easily repurchase a new ticket for the same area.

Purchasing a ticket again

  1. Open the Welcome Suica Mobile app
  2. Tap Buy a Ticket on the Home tab.
  3. Open the Suica Green Car Ticket menu and tap Buy the same Ticket again.
  4. Choose which past purchase to reference
  5. Check the travel section, date of travel, and price on the checkout screen and tap the Choose a Payment Method button.

Notes

  • Suica Green Car Tickets are only valid on the day they are purchased. However, tickets purchased between 12:00 a.m.JST and 12:50 a.m.JST are only valid until the last train of the day and can’t be used for or after the first train the following morning.

    ExampleA ticket purchased between 12:00 a.m.JST and 12:50 a.m.JST on May 12 can’t be used for or after the first train on the morning of May 12.

  • You might not be able to purchase a Suica Green Car Ticket last minute because of network issues, so please purchase your Suica Green Car Ticket in advance.
    If you have not purchased a Suica Green Car Ticket before the attendant checks your ticket on board, you will need to purchase a Green Car ticket (at the regular ticket rate) from the attendant.
  • If the purchase process gets interrupted due to network issues, an icon will appear on your Suica ticket screen. Tap on the icon to resume checking out.
  • Please double check the information you entered before purchasing. If you purchase the wrong Green Car ticket and want a refund, a processing fee of 220 yen is required.
  • Suica Green Car Tickets are limited to one user per device. You cannot purchase tickets for multiple people.
  • If you have an unused Suica Green Car Ticket and buy another Suica Green Car Ticket, the data for your original Suica Green Car Ticket will be deleted and you will no longer be able to use or get a refund for it.
  • If you want to change your Suica Green Car Ticket details after purchasing it, let the attendant know. (This process cannot be performed on the Welcome Suica Mobile app.)
  • If you change seats on the same train, please touch the app again at the new seat.
  • If you change trains at a station midway through, tap before getting off and then again once you’ve changed trains.
  • Welcome Suica Mobile cannot be used for travel from stations within the JR East area (east of Yugawara) to Kannami, Mishima, or Numazu. Please use a regular Suica card to purchase a Suica Green Car Ticket.
  • At Kannami, Mishima, and Numazu stations, only paper Green Car tickets are sold. If you are using Welcome Suica Mobile and traveling from one of these stations to a station within the JR EAST area (east of Yugawara), do not purchase a paper Green Car ticket. Instead, speak with the attendant on board.
