Today, August 26, East Japan Railway Company and Tokyu Corporation, based on Yokohama City’s Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance, submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment Methodology Document for the Yokohama Station West Exit Station Building Plan (tentative name) to the city.
This plan will see the joint rebuilding of the Yokohama Cial (current station building) and the Yokohama Excel Hotel Tokyu, both much-patronized institutions for many years, and consultation will be ongoing.

The Environmental Impact Assessment Methodology Document submitted to Yokohama City provides details of the project, the items for assessment in the environmental impact assessment, survey and measurement methods, and guidelines for consideration for the environment. The document will be reviewed from September 3, 2010 (for 45 days). | ||||

In accordance with the intent of Excite Yokohama 22, formulated to provide guidelines for urban development around Yokohama Station, we are continuing to conduct studies with the goal of attracting businesses and offices that will contribute to revitalizing the area around Yokohama Station following the rebuilding. These studies are being coordinated with the relevant local administrations, etc. |
