01 「駅」や「鉄道」は経済や産業、人々の暮らしに不可欠なものであり、なくすことのできない重要なインフラストラクチャーです。 ＪＲ東日本の建築技術者は、インハウスエンジニアとして、幅広いフィールドで活躍しています。首都圏では、大規模なターミナル駅改良や駅という立地のポテンシャルを活かした開発、わかりやすい案内サインの整備、バリアフリー化等を推進しています。地方圏では、自治体施設を併設した駅への建替えや、地域の魅力を高める駅舎リニューアルなど、地域に密着した駅づくりを行っています。また、海外の鉄道プロジェクトや商業施設開発にも積極的に参画し、国内事業で培った技術力やノウハウに磨きをかけています。 鉄道に近接した駅の工事では、様々な制約条件があり、技術的課題も数多くあります。更には、技術革新、社会環境の変化により、お客さまや社会から求められる駅の機能も変化していきます。そういったなか、ＪＲ東日本の建築技術者は、建築的な知識・技術力を発揮し、すべての人の「心豊かな生活」を実現するインフラストラクチャーを創造していきます。すべての人の「心豊かな生活」を実現する 〜ＪＲ東日本の建築〜Achieving “Affluent Lives” for Everyone: Architecture of JR EastTrains and stations are essential infrastructure, without which our economy, industries and lifestyles would be insupportable. The architectural engineers of JR East work in a wide range of capacities as our in-house engineers. In the Tokyo metropolitan region, they carry out large-scale terminal station renovations and developments that take advantage of the potential of the location as a station, prepare information signs that are easy to understand, and help to make our facilities barrier-free. In country areas, they work in various ways to make rail stations part of the community. For example, they rebuild stations into facilities that can be shared with local governments and update station buildings to enhance the appeal of the local area. Our architectural engineers are also active participants in rail projects and commercial facility developments outside of Japan, brushing up the technical skills and know-how they have developed in projects at home. The construction of stations close to train tracks is subject to various restrictions, which creates quite a few technical issues. As technical innovations and social changes have come, moreover, the functions that customers and the community expect from rail stations have changed as well.
