This vast Japanese garden was opened in 1906 by Sankei Hara, a businessman who made his fortune in silk reeling and raw silk trading. Historical buildings such as three-story pagodas and teahouses collected from Kyoto, Kamakura, and other places are cleverly arranged inside. It is also known as a famous spot to view plum blooms, cherry blossoms, and autumn foliage.

One of Japan's best night view spots.
It's a wonderful place where you can enjoy taking a stroll, with a park where the sea breeze is pleasant, rows of cherry trees that turn pink in the spring, an event square where street performances can be seen, an amusement park for some fun, the Nippon Maru—once dubbed the swan of the Pacific—and the historic Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse that preserves the appearance of the port's early days.

Yamashita Park was constructed by reclaiming debris from the Great Kanto Earthquake, and it was first opened in 1930. The view of the ocean, Yokohama Bay Bridge, and ships passing through the harbor is stunning. It is also a famous spot for roses in Yokohama, and every spring and fall, many roses bloom in "The Rose Garden of the Future."
