Tamron x Railway Town Omiya Photo Contest
Held as part of the 140th anniversary of the opening of Ōmiya Station
Thank you for participating in the "Tamron x Railway Town Omiya Photo Contest".
Thank you very much.
We received 134 wonderful works filled with love for Omiya.
After a rigorous judging process, the winning entries have been selected and we would like to introduce them to you.
The winning entries will be shown on various signage, including the large display at Ōmiya Station, in conjunction with the 140th anniversary event.

The railroad worker is silhouetted as the headlights come on. I've been to this place countless times, but this is a photo that holds fond memories.
Dear Tokamakotsuki

The flying tower has been in the children's playground at Omiya Park for a long time. I hope it will continue to be maintained. I took this photo handheld with a slow shutter speed.
Dear MASKMAN,

It was a rare day when the weekly Cassiopeia and the cherry blossom tunnel in full bloom coincided.

I went to the area around the east exit Ōmiya Station to see the Omiya Summer Festival Nakasendo Festival. There were many events, including mikoshi (portable shrines), floats, and Awa Odori (traditional Japanese dance), and the festival was crowded with many people. The festival reached its climax with the "Hikkawase" floats at the end of the festival.

Steam locomotives have been around for a long time and are a common sight.
Although the surroundings have changed, the place still reminds me of the railway town.

I always look forward to the local products on sale at the West Exit event space. I changed into a stained glass patterned uniform.

C57 No. 135, which was once exhibited at the Manseibashi Transportation Museum, came to the JR Omiya Railway Fair. On this day, it was exhibited outdoors to coincide with the opening of the Omiya Railway Museum and was a very popular attraction.

The Shiki-Shima train arrives at Ōmiya Station, where many sleeper trains once departed and arrived. Even members of the public were pointing their smartphones at the train, confirming just how popular it is.

My 3-year-old son loves the Shinkansen and trains, so he often takes his lunchbox to the Shinkansen viewing area at Ōmiya Station to play. Here is a photo of him getting really excited seeing his favorite train, Hayabusa, passing by.
Dear Maron

Wolf moon lights up the city of Omiya
It was windy and I wasn't sure if I could take the picture, but it was good.
