Learn history

Learn the history of the Oga no Namahage folk performance at the Namahage Museum. Step inside to discover over 150 Namahage masks from all over Oga. Learn about this unique custom from the staff, and you will be even more drawn to its charm.

"Oga Aquarium GAO"
Experience the beauty of Oga's ocean

The Oga Aquarium GAO features exhibits unique to the Oga area, such as the sandfish, Akita’s prefectural fish. The giant aquarium tank reproducing the sea of Oga is a marvel to behold, and walking through the underwater tunnel is just like being at the bottom of the ocean. You can also encounter cute sea creatures such as seals and sea lions.

Polar bears are rarely found in aquariums in Japan.

The seal makes a big turn right in front of you. You can get so close to them.
