B.B.BASE is a mobile base for cyclists. All throughout Boso. Take your excitement for the day's ride anywhere in the area. Ride the great land of Boso with B.B.BASE.

Take your bicycle onboard and mount it on the bicycle rack, no disassembly required.

Simply get onboard with your bike and place it on the bike rack.
Traveling with a bike has never been easier or more fun.

Equipped with plenty of space for you and your gear.

Each six-car train has 99 seats.
The interior is expansive enough that getting around is easy even with your favorite gear.

B.B.BASE GATE

[Ryogoku Station] Boarding the train with your bicycle

The boarding platform is at the back of the station.
B.B.BASE The dedicated entrance is on the north side of the station.
When you arrive at Ryogoku Station, take the west exit at the roundabout and go all the way down the right hand passage. When you arrive at Ryogoku Station, take the west exit at the roundabout and go all the way down the right hand passage.

  • ① Touch the IC card to the automatic ticket gate before proceeding
  • Enter from (see below★) the B.B.BASE gate
  • *There is no ticket gate that accepts IC cards at the B.B.BASE gate. It must be processed by an automatic ticket gate in advance.

[Customers using paper tickets]

  • At the B.B.BASE gate (see below) please ask a staff member
  • Enter through the B.B.BASE gate

  • When purchasing a reserved seat ticket through JR-EAST Train Reservation or a reserved seat ticket vending machine, please select the "B.B.BASE Mt. The reserved seat ticket will show "BBB Mt.

    • *If you select "B.B.BASE Mt. Kano" at the time of purchase, you will not be able to board the "Saikuru Train."
  • ・ Suica and other transportation system IC cards cannot be used on the Kururi Line. Please purchase a train ticket from the boarding station to Kururi Station in advance.

  • The Saikuru Train is available only to passengers who board the "B.B.BASE Mt. Kano" train with a reserved ticket that shows "BBB Mt. quot; for the train name.
    The Saikuru Train cannot be used with a reserved seat ticket that shows "B.B.BASE Mt.
  • ・Must transfer at Kisarazu Station. Please present your reserved seat ticket for "BBB Mt. Kano Kururi" to the attendant when you board the Saikuru Train.

Tickets & Reservations

To board the train, you will need a seat ticket as well as a basic fare ticket (or pass).

B.B.BASE In addition to a boarding ticket, you will need a seat ticket.

    1. Go to the JR-EAST Train ReservationOpens in a new window  site and press "Purchase tickets."

    2. Press “Joyful Trains” under the Ride Joyful Trains section.

    3. Select the train you want to ride.

    4. Choose the model, seat type (Green Car, box seats) and route for the train you selected.

    5. Press “Reserve Now” to proceed to the reservation details.

    6. Enter the date you want to travel, the departure station, the arrival station, and the number of adults and children riding, and press " Reserve Now."

    7. Choose from the available train times, check off the box by the train you want to ride, and press “Select.”

      To choose a different time, select "Previous train" or "Next train" to view the times of the trains before and after the current one.

    8. Check the purchase details, and if everything is correct, press "Buy Tickets" to proceed to the purchase screen.

    9. To make a purchase, you need to create a JR-EAST Train Reservation account.

JR EAST PASS

If you are using a JR EAST rail pass such as the JAPAN RAIL PASS or JR EAST PASS within the free area, you can reserve reserved seat without paying an additional fee.

    Terms and Conditions of Use

    1. about B.B.BASE

    • On B.B.BASE bicycles do not need to be disassembled (folding bicycles do not need to be folded) and can be mounted on the onboard bike rack.
    • ・It is the customer's responsibility to ensure bicycles are mounted securely and in accordance with the instruction manual.
    • ・The bicycle rack has a limited capacity.
    • ・JR is not responsible for any damage caused by mounting bicycles on the bike racks.
    • ・Mounting the bicycles may take time, so please arrive early.
    • When boarding or disembarking from B.B.BASE, please mount and remove your bicycle from the bike rack as quickly as possible.
    • ・JR is not responsible for any injuries, accidents, theft, loss, misplacement, or damages that occur during the trip.
    • ・Please obey all traffic rules when cycling and riding at your own risk.
    • ・Please refrain from cycling after consuming alcohol.
    • ・Please take care of your bicycle and baggage by yourself.
      We recommend that you purchase domestic travel insurance and insurance for personal belongings, in case of emergency.
      We recommend that you wear a helmet and gloves for safety, and bring an air pump, spare tube, and tools, in case of a flat tire.
    • ・Please use the West Exit at Ryogoku Station.
    • ・For safety reasons, please refrain from servicing bicycles while onboard the train.
    • Please bring a bicycle bag even if riding on B.B.BASE.
    • ・Due to the shaking motion of the train cars, please refrain from assembling bicycles onboard.
    • ・Please do not ride your bicycle in the station, on the platform, or on the train.

    2. About the bike racks

    • ・Be careful not to pinch your hands or fingers when using the bike rack.
    • ・The rear wheel, including the stand attached to the bicycle, should be in a suspended position.
    • ・Bicycles with mudguards on the front and rear wheels, stands surrounding the rear wheels, block pattern tires, and bicycles with three or more tires cannot be carried. In addition, some bicycles cannot be carried depending on their shape, such as folding bicycles and bicycles that have been modified by yourself. If you have a bicycle that cannot be carried on the cycle rack, please disassemble it (fold it if it is a folding bicycle) and store it in a bicycle carrying bag before riding.

    [Other things to note]

    • ・Passengers are expected to carry their bicycle themselves, including up and down stairs.
    • ・Bicycles with mudguards on the front or rear wheels, stands surrounding the rear wheels, block pattern tires, or bicycles with three or more tires cannot be mounted on the cycle rack. In addition, some bicycles cannot be mounted depending on their shape, such as folding bicycles or bicycles that have been modified by yourself. If you have a bicycle that cannot be mounted on the cycle rack, please dismantle it (fold it for folding bicycles) and store it in a bicycle bag before riding.

    3. About bringing your bicycle on the train (*)

    B.B.BASE When using a JR train other than JR, please dismantle your bicycle (folded bicycle must be folded) and store it completely in a special bag before riding. You may bring up to two items with a total length, width, and height not exceeding 250 cm (up to 2 m in length) and a weight not exceeding 30 kg. For details, please refer to "Passenger Operating For details, please refer to "Passenger Operating Regulations, Chapter 10, Article 308, Free Personal Effects (Japanese only)" on the JR EAST HPfor more information. When using other public transportation, please contact each agency directly.

    • *Traveling with one's bicycle on the train typically involves disassembling and placing the bicycle in a bicycle bag.

    In addition to the basic fare ticket for the selected trip itinerary, a reserved seat ticket is required and must be purchased in advance. Reserved seat tickets can be purchased on JR-EAST Train Reservation or at JR ticket offices (Midori-no-madoguchi) and reserved seat ticket vending machines at major stations.
