Ryōgoku Station: Board the train with your bicycle

The boarding platform is located at the back of the station.
B.B.BASE departs from the rarely used track 3 of Ryōgoku Station, with a special entrance located on the north side.
After arriving at the station, take the west exit at the roundabout, then proceed to the end of the passage to the right. Signs directing you to the entrance are posted throughout.

Purchase precautions

  • ・When purchasing a reserved seat ticket through JR-EAST Train Reservation or a reserved seat ticket vending machine, select "B.B.BASE Mt. Kano (Kururi)" for the train name, destination "Kisarazu Station".
    The reserved seat ticket will indicate "BBB Mt. Kano Kururi" for the train name and "Boarding Station→Kisarazu" for the section.
    • *B.B.BASE Mt. Kano tickets are not eligible to board the Saikuru Train. The ticket must be for "B.B.BASE Mt. Kano (Kururi)". Make sure to make the correct selection at time of purchase.
  • ・Smart cards (Suica and other IC cards) are not valid for the Kururi Line. Purchase a ticket from the boarding station to Kururi Station in advance.

Boarding precautions

  • ・The Saikuru Train is available only to passengers who board the B.B.BASE Mt. Kano train with a reserved seat ticket that indicates "BBB Mt. Kano Kururi" for the train name.
    Tickets that indicate "B.B.BASE Mt. Kano" (without Kururi) for the train name are not valid for boarding the Saikuru Train.
  • ・Transfer required at Kisarazu Station. Present your reserved seat ticket for "BBB Mt. Kano Kururi" to the attendant when you board the Saikuru Train.

Tickets & Reservations

Both a basic fare ticket (or pass) and a reserved seat ticket are required to board.

B.B.BASE is reserved seats only (non-smoking). Advance purchase required.

Option 1: Purchase a basic fare ticket and reserved seat ticket

    1. Go to the  JR-EAST Train Reservation website (opens in a new window)   and click "Purchase tickets".

    2. Click  "Joyful Trains" in the "Ride Joyful Trains" section.

    3. Select a train.

    4. Choose the car, seat type (Green Car, box seats, etc.) and route.

    5. Click "Reserve Now" to proceed to the reservation details.

    6. Enter the date of travel, departure and arrival stations, and the number of adults and children, and click "Reserve Now".

    7. Choose from the available train times, check the box by the train, then click "Select".

      To choose a different time, select "Previous train" or "Next train" to view time for the trains before and after that currently selected.

    8. Confirm purchase details, and if correct, click "Buy Tickets" to proceed to the purchase screen.

    9. JR-EAST Train Reservation account is required for purchase.

Option 2: Purchase a pass and reserve a seat

    Terms and Conditions of Use

    1. about B.B.BASE

    • ・Bicycles can be mounted on racks when traveling on B.B.BASE. Disassembly (folding for folding bicycles) is not required.
    • ・Passengers are responsible for ensuring bicycles are mounted securely in accordance with the instruction manual.
    • ・Rack capacity is limited.
    • ・JR is not responsible for any damage caused by mounting bicycles on the rack.
    • ・Arrive early to ensure enough time to mount your bicycle.
    • ・When boarding or disembarking from B.B.BASE, please mount and remove your bicycle from the bike rack as quickly as possible.
    • ・JR is not responsible for any injuries, accidents, theft, loss, misplacement, or damages that occur during travel.
    • ・Passengers cycle at their own risk. Please obey all traffic rules.
    • ・Do not cycle after consuming alcohol.
    • ・Passengers are responsible for their own bicycles and baggage.
      Domestic travel and personal belonging insurance are recommended in case of emergency.
      ・Wear a helmet and gloves for safety, and pack an air pump, spare tube and tools in case of a flat tire.
    • ・Use the West Exit at Ryōgoku Station.
    • ・Refrain from servicing your bicycle while on board to ensure safety.
    • ・Even if you intend to use the bicycle rack when traveling on B.B.BASE, please bring a bag to store your bicycle.
    • ・Refrain from assembling your bicycle on board due to the shaking motion of the train.
    • ・Refrain from riding your bicycle in the station, on the platform or on the train.

    2. About the bike racks

    • ・Use caution to avoid getting your hands or fingers caught when using the racks.
    • ・The rear wheel, including the stand, should be in a suspended position.
    • ・Bicycles with front/rear mudguards, a stand that surrounds the rear wheel, block tread tires, and bicycles with three or more tires cannot be rack mounted. In addition, some folding bicycles, bicycles that have been customized and other bicycles of certain shapes cannot be mounted. Any such bicycles must be disassembled (folded if a folding bicycle) and stored in a bicycle storage bag before boarding.

    Additional notes

    • ・Passengers are responsible for carrying their bicycles, including up and down stairs.
    • ・Bicycles with front/rear mudguards, a stand that surrounds the rear wheel, block tread tires, and bicycles with three or more tires cannot be rack mounted. In addition, some folding bicycles, bicycles that have been customized and other bicycles of certain shapes cannot be mounted. Any such bicycles must be disassembled (folded if a folding bicycle) and stored in a bicycle storage bag before boarding.

    3. About bringing your bicycle on the train (*)

    When traveling on JR trains other than B.B.BASE, bicycles must be disassembled (folded if a folding bicycle) and stored completely in a bicycle storage bag before boarding. Passengers are allowed two carry-on items with combined dimensions not exceeding 250 cm (up to 2 m in length) and a weight not exceeding 30 kg. Items may be refused if they cause inconvenience to other passengers or due to crowding on the train. For more information, refer to "Passenger Operating Regulations, Chapter 10, Article 308, Free Personal Effects" (Japanese only) on the JR East website. Policy may differ on transportation not operated by JR East; please confirm with the provider directly.

    • *Train travel with a bicycle generally requires disassembly and storage in a bicycle storage bag.
