This is a beautiful street lined with historic samurai residences and weeping cherry trees. This is the first Mont Blanc sweets specialty store in Akita Prefecture, and its store is a renovated koji storehouse that was built over 120 years ago. The interior of the store is a stylish space that blends Japanese and Western styles, and you can enjoy sweets made with local ingredients. The Nishiki district of Senboku City is famous for producing chestnuts called Saimyoji chestnuts, and the popular "Baked Mont Blanc" is made by squeezing chestnut cream made from fragrant Akita-grown "Saimyoji chestnuts" on top of a dough made from 100% Akita Komachi rice flour, and then baking it by hand.

This long-established store was founded in 1853 and produces and sells additive-free, naturally brewed miso and soy sauce. In the store, you can sample products and purchase products made using traditional methods. In addition, the brick storehouse, a symbol of the Ando Brewery Honten, is open to the public free of charge. It is a spot where you can experience local food culture.

Fujiki Denshiro Shoten is a brand of traditional crafts called birch crafts. Birch crafts are crafts made from cherry tree bark, and Fujiki Denshiro Shoten has been making high-quality birch crafts for seven generations since its founding in 1851. The store was renovated from a storehouse from the end of the Edo period and opened in 1990. The store displays a wide range of products, from traditional birch crafts to modern items, including tea canisters and trays, and is popular as a souvenir.

The on-demand transportation service "Yobunoru Kakunodate" is extremely convenient for getting around Kakunodate. This means of transportation works by specifying your boarding location and destination via a dedicated website or phone, and the nearest vehicle will come to pick you up. The operating area is made up of a free boarding and disembarking area where you can freely specify boarding and disembarking locations, and several other boarding and disembarking locations. The free boarding and disembarking area covers the downtown area of Kakunodate, and the tourist spots we introduced are located within this area.
