Wanoi Kakunodate

Wanoi Kakunodate

Wanoi Kakunodate is a hotel renovated from a historic storehouse dotted around the town of Kakunodate, Little Kyoto, famous for its samurai residences.
You can experience traditional Japanese life in a storehouse where activities have been preserved, which is related to the background of the storehouse's use. When you step inside, you will feel as if you have traveled back in time to the lifestyle of those times.

Wanoi Kakunodate

Our hotel rents out one of three storehouses - the Nishinomiya Bushigura, the Nishinomiya Gakkogura, and the Tanmonogura - so you can enjoy a private space.
The three storehouses are: "Nishinomiya Family Bushigura," which displays books that were actually kept by the Nishinomiya family, who were once famous samurai in the area, as well as replicas of swords and armor reminiscent of samurai; "Nishinomiya Family Gakkogura," a renovated storehouse that was used to store gakko (pickles) and is dotted with items and motifs related to pickles; and "Tamonogura," which is located in a convenient tourist spot just before Buke Yashiki Street and displays bolts of cloth and tools.
