This time, we will introduce a two-day, one-night model itinerary that is packed with the charm of Kakunodate.
On the first day, we will start from JR Kakunodate Station, rent a kimono from Kimono Tabi Shanari, and stroll through the samurai residence streets.
Part of the samurai residence is open to the public, so you can learn about the architecture and history of the time. In the evening, enjoy an extraordinary stay at the hotel "Wanoi Kakunodate," a renovated historic storehouse.
On the second day, you will experience making your own traditional craft at the Kakunodate Kabazaiku Heritage Museum, where you will learn about the history of Kabazaiku, a traditional craft that has been handed down since the Edo period (reservations required).
Afterwards, enjoy the feeling of going back in time while shopping at Ando Brewery Head Office, which is registered as a tangible cultural property of Senboku City and is home to a brick storehouse that is said to be the oldest in the Tohoku region.
