INTERVIEW

  • Question.01

What are you responsible for at work?

I work within a team that handles large-scale projects, focusing on the construction planning and design of railway telecommunication facilities. For the safe and stable transportation of trains, it's essential to promptly and accurately convey weather information such as rain and wind, as well as details about earthquakes and disasters. Additionally, to provide seamless service to our customers, we need to swiftly gather and disseminate information within station premises.
Railway telecommunication technology plays a crucial role in our company's railway transportation by addressing these aspects.

  • Question.02

What is the most rewarding/interesting part of your current job?

I find fulfillment in combining new technologies with existing ones to drive operational improvements. Technologies like drones and BIM might not be novel concepts to the public, but when they are integrated with the realm of "railways," they can give birth to innovative solutions. Exploring the possibilities and potential added value that arise from these technologies is intriguing. When I manage to identify ways to enhance our operations using these technologies and reach the actual improvements, it brings a great sense of accomplishment.

  • Question.03

Are there things that you can perceive as you have experience as a mid-career worker?

I am capable of viewing my work objectively. Our company group is involved in various businesses. However, engaging in diverse activities also means that many matters are resolved within the company group itself. In such cases, there's a tendency to perceive things based on the standards of our company group. At times like these, I leverage the experiences I've gained from being aware of external factors and strive to view my work objectively. I believe that having an outward-focused antenna and fostering lateral connections are crucial aspects.

  • Question.04

Please tell us about your dreams and visions for the future!

My goal is to achieve new ways of working through technological innovation. I believe in integrating groundbreaking technologies like SfM (Structure from Motion) and photogrammetry into our operations to facilitate cross-functional efficiency improvements at the operational level. If we can reduce quantitative tasks, employees will be able to focus on more creative endeavors. As a result, I believe it will contribute to providing services that make railway usage convenient and comfortable for our customers.

  • Question.05

    Advice for mid-career employment participant!

Our company is a place where you can take on various challenges with your ideas and creativity. We must carry out our work while ensuring stable train operations and the safety of our customers and employees. As a result, there is much to learn after joining the company. On the other hand, to adapt to the changing environment, our company is undergoing continuous transformation. Therefore, there are plenty of opportunities. Making a career change might require a significant decision on your part, but I am looking forward to the prospect of tackling new things together with your ideas and creativity.
