INTERVIEW

  • Question.01

What are you responsible for at work?

Electrical SIO's Next Generation Train Operation Systems Division plays the role of a "coordinator" that connects the railway system creator and the user. By coordinating with each person in charge and proposing a system from the user's point of view, we are considering making the facility safe and highly convenient. We are mainly in charge of a wide range of transportation-related projects, such as  Construction of Haneda Airport Access Line, Introduction of  "Green car"(first-class car) on Chūō and Ōme lines, D-ATC on-board database renovation, Transportation improvement measures and Switching work related to interlocking updates.

  • Question.02

What is the most rewarding/interesting part of your current job?

Rail systems are constantly evolving. There are plans to expand ATACS(security device installed on the Saikyo Line, etc.) to other lines, develop TASC(Stationary stop position device that stops accurately at the stop position) in conjunction with the introduction of platform doors in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and introduce ATO (Automatic Train Operation).I find it rewarding to be involved in the task of creating future driving systems.

  • Question.03

Please tell us about the most memorable task you have done so far.

I was impressed by the ground coil examination work at Haijima Station on the Ōme Line. Haijima Station is a station that will be split and merged, and in addition to considering the TASC and ATS-P ground coils, it was necessary to comprehensively consider the movement and operation of trains at the time of split and merge. Since there were issues that could not be resolved within the scope of the current rules, we coordinated with the head office, branch offices, and crew members to resolve the issues.

  • Question.04

Please tell us about your dreams and visions for the future!

The work of transportation covers a wide range of tasks such as stations, crew members, orders, and planning work, and further systemization will be promoted in the future. In order to create an overall optimal system while incorporating the user's point of view, I would like to create a next-generation transportation system by refining my transportation knowledge more than ever and expanding my knowledge of other systems.

  • Question.05

    Advice for job-hunting students!

Railways are supported by various systems. When I was working as a train driver, I didn't pay much attention to it, but when I became involved in operation equipment planning, I realized that railways are supported by many infrastructures. How we evolve these many railway infrastructures depends on the technical capabilities of everyone who joins us from now on. While you are a student, develop your areas of expertise and develop an interest in various fields. Being conscious of efforts to delve into the why will definitely help in creating a railway system. I look forward to the day when we can build the railways of the future together with everyone.

How you spend your weekend

My children are 4 and 1 years old, so I spend a lot of time with my family.
Recently, we went to watch a professional baseball game together. Beer drinking at the stadium is the best!
