Question.01
What are you responsible for at work?
As a member of a group that integrates design and construction responsibilities, I work as a construction supervisor, mainly overseeing the underground transmission facilities within the areas of Omiya Branch, Hachioji Branch, and Takasaki Branch. These underground power transmission facilities refer to the extra-high-voltage cables that connect power plants and substations, installed throughout our company's infrastructure. There are various purposes of this construction, including replacing aging equipment and installing new ones to supply electricity to new station buildings.
I visit the construction site and coordinate the project to maintain the quality of construction, and safe and stable train operation.
Question.02
What is the most rewarding/interesting part of your current job?
As one of the construction supervisor, I find it fascinating to see the steps of the facility development. ESIO’s construction often involves large-scale projects and numerous challenges, making it far from straightforward. However, the sense of achievement when the facilities are finally put into use is incredibly rewarding, and it gives me a sense of fulfillment. Additionally, while progressing with the construction as per the design, I also enjoy exploring ways to make the process more efficient and cost-effective, proposing suggestions to achieve these improvements.
Question.03
Please tell us about the most memorable task you have done so far.
I have fond memories of being in charge of the relocation of underground power transmission facilities associated with the new construction of JR Tokai's Central Shinkansen Shinagawa Station. While I was responsible for the fundamental planning of this project, I thought that supervising this construction would be quite challenging. However, several years later, I found myself in the position of supervising this project. It presented many unprecedented challenges, such as dealing with public roads, manholes, and demanding construction conditions that I had never experienced before. Despite the difficulties, I managed to navigate through the coordination with internal and external partners and successfully complete the construction.
Having been involved in this project from its inception to its completion, I feel a strong emotional attachment to it.
Question.04
Please tell us about your dreams and visions for the future!
I aspire to become an employee that supports the energy sector! Not only for my own growth but also to guide and nurture successors so that they can have meaningful experiences.
Question.05
Advice for job-hunting students!
When I was going through the job hunting process, I always had a vision to work in the energy field. It felt easier for me to articulate my motivation when I considered what I wanted to do in a company focusing on energy as its main theme. Through experiences like studying, part-time jobs, and participating in extracurricular activities during your student days, I hope you to discover what truly drives you and find the things you want to pursue.
On weekends, I often take my child for a walk, go shopping, prepare dinner, and before I know it, I find myself falling asleep after putting my child to bed. It seems like I'm busier on weekends... (The photo is from a visit to a dinosaur museum during a trip to my hometown with my child.)
