Question.01
What are you responsible for at work?
I supervise the construction of telecommunications equipment such as surveillance cameras and telephones for the improvement work of Tokyo Station. I hold meetings with the station employees who use the equipment and employees in charge of other system to discuss regarding the construction period and equipment location. In addition, I examine work processes and work methods with partner companies, and supervise work to ensure that construction proceeds safely.
Question.02
What is the most rewarding/interesting part of your current job?
For telecommunication works and projects at stations, we often work on equipment that is used by station staff instead of the customers, such as cameras, business telephones, and broadcasting equipment. I feel that coordinating work with station employees and examining construction methods is an interesting aspect. In addition, I feel a sense of accomplishment when I review and adjust the equipment and when the new equipment can be put into use without any problems.
Question.03
Please tell us about the most memorable task you have done so far.
The year I joined the company, the COVID-19 epidemic had just started. As a result, the training for new employees was shortened, and they were assigned to the workplace earlier than usual. As a result, there were many things I didn't understand, but I was able to proceed with my work while being taught by senior employees.
Question.04
What was your motivation and decisive factor when joining the company?
I was looking for a job with a focus on being involved in manufacturing and being involved in companies that support public infrastructure. Among them, JR East is a company that specializes in urban development centered on stations and handling passenger railways. In addition, I applied for the ESIO department, which is close to the site and involved in large projects.
Question.05
Advice for job-hunting students!
Job hunting is a great opportunity to decide your future self. I think it's important to find a job that you enjoy and that you want to do, regardless of your background. I had no connection with railways or communications until I finished university, but I am enjoying my work while learning business knowledge and railways at ESIO.
I often spend time playing games with my friends. Occasionally, I participate in ESIO futsal tournaments to exercise.
