    What is a relation between JR East and Electrical System Integration Office?

    A.

    Electrical System Integration Office is a part of  JR East. Employees belonged Electrical System Integration Office are JR East employees too.

    What is different from Electrical System Integration Office(ESIO), Tokyo Metropolitan Area Construction Project Management Office(TokyoPMO) and Tōhoku Area Construction Project Management Office(TōhokuPMO)?

    A.

    ESIO, Tokyo PMO and Tōhoku PMO are in charge of facility construction in JR East. Among them, ESIO is responsible for "electrical construction" in JR East area, Tokyo PMO is responsible for "civil engineering, architecture and other construction" in Tokyo Metropolitan area, and Tōhoku PMO is responsible for "civil engineering, architecture and other construction" in Tōhoku area.

    What is different from Office and Branch?

    A.

    To keep trains running, we need to maintain facilities daily to prevent them from breaking. Each Branch is responsible for maintenance. Whereas, "facility construction" for which Office is responsible of refers to a big construction project such as constructing  a station and tracks, and equipment renewal.

    How can I join ESIO as area position recruitment?

    A.

    You should access JR East recruiting page and look for the detail for recruiting in the recruitment page  ESIO is in the fields of " Train Control System/Energy/Information and Communication". Using the 2023 Area position recruitment as an example, choosing "Technological Job (Electrical)" and then "Department : Construction"  will be the closest option to the things that ESIO focuses on (Please note that in the future, this may change)

    What fields about electrical jobs in ESIO are there?

    A.

    It is generally divided into 3 fields, which are “Train Control System/Energy/Information and Communication”, "Train Control System" and "Information and Communication" that are called Low-power current facilities, and  "Energy" that is called High-power current facilities. You should also see the pages "Profile" on "Know the jobs" section which introduces job examples in these fields.

    Is the employee that works in ESIO General Position recruit or Area position recruit?

    A.

    Both General position and Area position recruit can work in ESIO. Refer to JR East recruiting page to know the difference.

    How about human resource development and training?

    A.

    There is an annual training plan aimed at becoming a full-fledged person in five years for area position recruit. For half a year after joining the company, in addition to training at the head office,basic training will be provided, so there is no problem even if you have not studied electricity at university. The training period is different for career-track recruits, but we also provide training from the basics.

    Where is our work place?

    A.

    The Tokyo office is in Meguro, and the Sendai office is in Sendai. There are offices in Tokyo, Shinjuku, Shinagawa, Sendai, and Morioka that supervise construction.

    Can I live in a dormitory or company housing?

    A.

    If you meet the conditions, you can live in a dormitory or company housing.

    Do you have club activities?

    A.

    There are more than 20 club activities at ESIO, and the employees are active together. Participation is up to each individual.

    Can I use maternity leave and childcare leave?

    A.

    It can be used by both men and women. An interview with an employee who actually used it is listed in the "Person" section.

    Do you have flextime working?

    A.

    Flextime working styles has been introduced and encouraged in the Tokyo and Sendai offices. For example, you can come to work later according to your family's schedule.
