If you reserved your pass through a travel agency outside of Japan or through JR-EAST Train Reservationsite, you will need to pick up the pass at a ticket office or ticket vending machine after arriving in Japan.
This page explains where each type of pass can be picked up.
- The JR EAST PASS will go on sale starting March 14, and the valid areas for the JR East-South Hokkaido Rail Pass and Hokuriku Arch Pass will change.
After the valid areas of the JR East-South Hokkaido Rail Pass and the Hokuriku Arch Pass were changed, only the new versions can be picked up at Niigata Station, Tachikawa Station, and Matsumoto Station. Pickup at Matsumoto Station is limited to reservations made through JR-EAST Train Reservation.
- Passes and reserved seat ticket purchased using a pass can be picked up within their respective area of use.
- Train tickets and seat tickets reserved through JR-EAST Train Reservation using linked rail passes can be picked up and purchased from reserved seat ticket vending machines in JR EAST area.
Passes cannot be picked up at JR Ticket Office(Midori-no-Madoguchi)(excluding Narita Airport and Airport Terminal 2).
However, you can collect seat ticket using tickets and passes reserved through JR-EAST Train Reservation at JR Ticket Office(Midori-no-Madoguchi). Please note, you cannot collect tickets at any stations other than JR lines, such as Izu Kyuko or Fujikyu Railway Line.
To receive seat ticket using the pass, you will need the pass for each person.
