This service allows you to reserve an e-ticket in advance and board the Shinkansen or limited express trains without the need to use a ticket counter or ticket machine.
Shinkansen e-ticket is a convenient ticketless service (no need to print a ticket) that allows you to reserve a ticket online (JR-EAST Train Reservation in a new window) and link it to your transportation IC card such as Suica when boarding the Shinkansen, without having to buy a ticket at the station. It is also convenient for using reserved seat.
Ticket reservation: Select the date, time, train, facilities, and seat.
Link IC card: Register your reserved seat information on your transportation IC card (e.g., Suica, PASMO).
*Please prepare a transportation IC card for each person. One transportation IC card is required per person.
Board the Shinkansen by simply tapping your transportation IC card at the automatic ticket gate machine.
*Please use the seat you reserved.

About Suica and Welcome Suica
Express Train e-ticket (basic fare required) is a convenient ticketless service (no need to print a ticket) that allows you to reserve a ticket online (JR-EAST Train Reservation in a new window) and board a conventional express train (some trains are eligible) without having to buy a ticket at the station.
* This product is for super (limited) express train tickets only. A separate transportation IC card or ticket is required to board the train.
Ticket reservation: Select the date, time, train, facilities, and seat.
At the ticket gate, tap your IC card on the designated card reader or insert your physical ticket. Then, take your reserved seat.
(Super (limited) express train tickets are ticketless, so no physical ticket is required.)
To use the express train e-ticket, you must register as a member of JR-EAST Train Reservation (opens in a new window).
* This product is for super (limited) express train tickets only. A separate transportation IC card or ticket is required to board the train.
Also, with a transportation IC card (Suica, PASMO, etc.), you can pass through the ticket gates with just a tap, making it even more convenient.
