Promoting the development of barrier-free facilities

(Plans for and achievements of the barrier-free fare system for railway stations)

JR EAST utilized the barrier-free fare system for railway stations, established by the government in December 2021, to implement the development of barrier-free facilities. Although the barrier-free fare for railway stations was abolished with the fare revision in March 2026, the development, maintenance, and renewal of barrier-free facilities will continue to be carried out systematically.
