JR EAST Group AI Policy
The JR EAST Group aims to enrich the lives of all people through Lifestyle Transformation (LX) based on a human-centric approach. In our mission to innovate lifestyles by addressing social issues and emerging needs, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of our most vital technologies. As we strive to become a true technology services corporate group, we hereby establish the “JR EAST Group AI Policy” to maximize the benefits of AI under a governance framework that identifies and appropriately manages the risks associated with AI.
- The JR EAST Group will utilize AI from a “human-centric” perspective to realize a fulfilling and enriched life for all people. We aim to provide the benefits of AI to as many people as possible without infringing on human rights.
- The JR EAST Group places safety as its top management priority. By leveraging AI, we will provide products and services that offer our customers even greater safety and peace of mind. Furthermore, we will appropriately manage AI, including through rules and governance frameworks, by correctly identifying AI risks and implementing measures such as human-in-the-loop mechanisms and safeguards against unexpected behavior.
- The JR EAST Group will comply with all relevant laws and regulations to address AI-related risks, including privacy violations, the leakage of confidential information, and the infringement of intellectual property rights. Additionally, we will strive to ensure security to prevent damage caused by unauthorized manipulation or misuse of AI.
- The JR EAST Group will provide highly transparent information regarding the purposes, benefits, and safety of AI use to ensure that a diverse range of stakeholders can use our services with confidence.
- The JR EAST Group will proactively leverage AI to address social issues and the emerging needs of our customers. Thus, we will transform our ways of working and create new customer experience value.
- The JR EAST Group will promote the development of human resources capable of utilizing AI appropriately. We will implement ongoing education to deepen understanding not only of the benefits of AI, but also of its risks and ethical considerations.
- The JR EAST Group will seek understanding and cooperation from partner companies involved in the development, provision, and use of AI, and will work together to promote responsible AI use. In response to the future development and diversification of AI technology, we will adapt by reviewing our approaches, use methods, and management frameworks. Through the proper use of AI, the JR EAST Group will fulfill its social mission.
