Purpose of communication regarding management issues

We visit suppliers that provide goods to our Group to share our Group Procurement Policy and discuss sustainability initiatives, including how to identify and address human rights, environment, and supply chain-related risks.
By communicating with our suppliers, we’re asking for their continued understanding of and cooperation with the JR East Group Procurement Policy while also learning more about the challenges they face.

Content of Checks

Our discussions on sustainability initiatives, such as how human rights, environment, and supply chain-related risks are identified and addressed, include the topics below.

  • Sustainable initiatives (due diligence in human rights, carbon neutrality, others)
  • Understanding of existing risks in the supply chain and policies for response (Understanding conditions in country of origin, how to be prepared for geopolitical risks, etc.)
  • Penetration and awareness of initiatives related to human rights, the environment, among other areas, throughout the supply chain(supply chain Penetration rate)
  • Initiatives to upgrade safety, technical capability, quality, cost, delivery and post-sales service
  • Internal systems and initiatives for legal compliance and social responsibility
