Suppliers are requested to understand our group's “Code of Conduct Regarding Material Procurement” and to endeavor to comply with the items listed below. It is also requested that suppliers in your company be informed of our company's Code of Conduct and be asked to comply with it.

In order to ensure responsible procurement throughout our supply chain with the goal of creating a sustainable society, our group checks the status of supplier initiatives (questionnaires and visits to suppliers) and selects suppliers both inside and outside the country based on the status of their initiatives.

1.Legal and Regulatory Compliance and Fulfillment of Social Responsibilities
  • Compliance with laws and regulations in Japan and overseas
  • Collaboration with our company to support social infrastructure
  • Encouraging suppliers to make efforts to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society
2.Pursuing Safety
  • Understanding of our group Philosophy, which positions safety as the top priority in managing our company
  • Continuous development of, and proposals for, goods that contribute to securing safety
3.Technology Improvement
  • Understanding our group's needs and, through this understanding, proposing joint research and joint development including the latest expertise.
  • Enhancement of research and development systems necessary for maintaining and improving technological capabilities
4.Provision of High-quality, Low-cost Goods and Implementation of Sufficient After-sales Service,
  • Endeavoring to supply high-quality and low-cost goods, in order to achieve further cost reductions and quality improvements
  • In addition to cooperation regarding regular maintenance, there should also be implementation of prompt, sufficient after-sales service, such as investigations to determine the cause of early failures and malfunctions, and to provide technical assistance and replacement items
5.Observance of Equitable and Fair Business Transactions
  • Active cooperation with, and the provision of accurate information for, screening and tests, etc. in the procurement procedures
  • Prohibition of excessive entertainment, exchange of gifts, or other special treatment with our business partners.
6.Establishment of Transactional Relationships Which Lead to Mutual Development
  • Comprehensive communications in order to establish relationships based on mutual trust. This includes sharing information on products, manufacturing, inspection, and shipping systems, etc.
  • Continued collaboration with our company to improve products and technology
  • Establishing and maintaining a system capable of supplying goods in a reliable manner at an appropriate time.
7.Appropriate Handling of Information, etc.
  • Appropriate management of intellectual property, personal information, important information related to railway operation safety, and other confidential information
8.Consideration for Climate Change and Biodiversity
  • Provision of products while taking into account their impact on climate change and biodiversity. This includes green procurement and the reduction of environmental burdens imposed by goods
9.Respect for Human Rights and Consideration for the Work Environment
  • We respect human rights and the diversity of individuals. Our suppliers should likewise avoid involvement in discrimination, forced labor, child labor and other human rights violations in business activities, and consideration for the working environment
10.Isolation from Anti-Social Forces
  • Excluding relationships with antisocial forces and groups that threaten the order and safety of civil society
