Each year, procurement representatives from the JR East Group visit the production sites of 20-30 of our business partners who supply railway materials to check on quality control and discuss related matters.

We communicate with our business partners about quality control to ensure the safety and peace of mind of our passengers.

Our representatives conducted checks of production sites, regulations and ledgers in relation to the following topics and discussed our business partners' quality control frameworks.
- Acquisition and renewal of certification (ISO9001, etc.)
- Organizational structure for quality control
- Training on quality control
- Inspection frameworks
- Inspection records
- Delivery inspections (purchasing of products and materials)
- Management of contractors (outsourced production)
- Process control
- Handling of changes to plans (before and during production)
- Defects and complaints
- Handling of injurious accidents and equipment faults
- Maintenance and inspections of various equipment

- Compliance training
Future Initiatives
Ongoing communication is needed in order to maintain and improve quality. We will continue to hold discussions with our business partners and work with them to ensure a high degree of quality in the railway materials we procure.
