This is the start of a new cycling adventure in Boso. When you get off the train, you will find the blue sea and green hills waiting for you and your bike. B.B.BASE is a mobile base for cyclists.

Each six-car train has 99 seats. The interior is expansive enough that getting around is easy even with your favorite gear.

Mounting your bike – Step 1

Pull the hook to pull out the guide frame.

Note: For smaller bicycles, pull the guide frame out only to the first extension.

Place the front wheel on the guide frame and make sure the front wheel and the back wheel are in their holding slots.

Prohibited: Bicycles with a front or back wheel mudguard, a kickstand sandwiching the back tire, a block pattern tire, or more than two wheels may not be brought onto the train. Other restrictions may apply such as to folding bicycles and customized bicycles due to size and shape concerns.

  • Passengers riding in cars no. 1 and 2 must fold or disassemble bicycles and store them in their bags to bring them on board.

  • Outside food and beverages may be brought on board (onboard sales service is not available).

Tickets for the B.B.BASE are not available for sale outside of Japan. There are multiple ways to purchase tickets as follows.

View Travel Package:
Available for sale at JR EAST Travel Service Centers at Tokyo, Shinjuku and other stations, as well as at your nearby Travel Service Centers (View Plaza).
Passes:
Purchase a pass that is for foreign visitors to Japan and covers the travel area. Recommended passes when visiting Japan
Tickets:
Available for sale at JR EAST Travel Service Centers and your local JR Ticket Office (Midori-no-madoguchi).

Note: Not all services are available on certain trains when boarding with a pass or a ticket.
