With advances in IT, work in fields such as mechanical equipment and public works infrastructure has progressed on condition based maintenance (CBM), an inspection method where conditions are constantly monitored. This CBM inspection method allows for predictive identification of troubles and accidents better than traditional time based maintenance (TMB). It thus greatly contributes to increased reliability in railway systems. The monitoring system for ground facilities by operating trains is a system where measurements of ground facilities are done from trains. By working to convert from a TBM to a CBM inspection system, we are aiming to achieve early detection in accident prediction; and development of such as system is currently ongoing. |
