Oigen Foundry(Iwate Prefecture)

  • Nambu ironware is a traditional craft from Iwate Prefecture. During your journey, you'll visit Oigen Foundry, established in 1852 in the Mizusawa district of Oshu, one of the two major Nambu ironware production areas. With a guide, you will tour this long-established foundry, experiencing its history, and the passion and pride of its artisans.

Relax with a drink while watching the evening scenery from the train window. Lounge Komorebi (Car 5) can be utilized at any time of day, except for when Car 5 is being used to serve meals. Lounge Komorebi is closed from 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM for cleaning and disinfecting.

Tsugaru handicraft workshops in the Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art: Wanimokko / BUNACO

  • Make Tsugaru handicrafts at the Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art, some of which is from the Yoshino-cho brick warehouse that was once a cider factory. Workshops include Wanimokko, woodwork hand-crafted from Aomori's abundant timber, and BUNACO, where you coil thin strips of beech wood.

  • One of the leading fishing harbors in Japan, freshly caught fish are plentiful in Shiogama. Chefs from three sushi restaurants in Shiogama Sushi Kaido (Sushi Shirahata, Kameki-Sushi, and Sushitetsu) will board the train in succession to make sushi for you.
