Hakuba is famous as a ski resort. And in the greener months, the 3,000–meter mountains provide great hiking. Tsugaike Nature Park is located in a wetland with planks laid for walking. The trek can be accomplished in about three hours. Hakuba is filled with natural alpine delights in every season.

This new-style resort train is equipped with a hybrid engine system and runs along the Oito Line with the majestic Northern Alps in the background. This environmentally friendly train is an experience not to miss.
The Resort View Furusato runs between Nagano and Minami-Otari Stations, stopping at Matsumoto Station along the way.

Nagano's symbol Zenkoji Temple has drawn a large number of people of any belief since ancient times. Today, some six million people visit the temple per year. In Nagano City, which flourished with Zenkoji as its center, travelers can see historical buildings worth visiting.

Located next to Zenkoji Temple are famous soba shops. And don't forget to buy an oyaki, a special food made in Shinshu.
