Zao Hot Springs Ski Resort

Things to see

Unusual meteorological conditions on Mount Zao give rise to frost-covered trees with unusual shapes known as snow monsters, great masterpieces of nature that Yamagata is proud to show the world. When illuminated with multi-colored lights, the snow monsters seem to rise up vividly, creating a mystical scene.

Many people visit Mount Zao for the ski resort and to see the many events held there.
