Proof of identification such as a passport or student identification card may be required during the use of tickets on East Japan Railway Company ("JR East"). Please present your identification if so requested by a station employee or a train conductor.
  • Tickets with the option of reserving a seat do not guarantee that a seat reservation will be available. If no reserved seats are available, please use the unreserved seating. JR East does not make refunds for the difference between the price of a reserved and an unreserved seat in such situations.
  • Seat reservations can be made at certain JR East offices including at the JR EAST Travel Service Centers located in Narita Airport Terminals 1 and 2·3, Haneda Airport International Terminal and JR Ticket Offices (Midori-no-madoguchi) at major JR East stations. Some train seats can be reserved on the JR-EAST Train Reservation.
  • All of the seats on the Hayate, Komachi, Narita Express, Super-View Odoriko, Nikko, Specia Nikko, Kinugawa and Specia Kinugawa are by reservation only. A reservation must be held to board these trains.
  • Prices for special fares and passes on this Web site are quoted in yen.
