Terms and Conditions for Special Fares and PassesPlease Read Carefully

• The purchase, exchange and use of tickets are subject to eligibility. Proof of identification such as a passport or student identification card may be required during the use of tickets on East Japan Railway Company ("JR East"). Please present your identification if so requested by a station employee or a train conductor.
• Tickets with the option of reserving a seat do not guarantee that a seat reservation will be available. If no reserved seats are available, please use the unreserved seating. JR East does not make refunds for the difference between the price of a reserved and an unreserved seat in such situations.
• Seat reservations can be made at certain JR East offices including at the JR EAST Travel Service Centers located in Narita Airport Terminal 1 and 2, Haneda Airport International Terminal and JR Ticket Offices (Midori-no-madoguchi) at major JR East stations. Some train seats can be reserved on the JR East Shinkansen Reservation web page.
• All of the seats on the Hayate, Komachi, Narita Express, Super-View Odoriko, Nikko, Specia Nikko, Kinugawa and Specia Kinugawa are by reservation only. A reservation must be held to board these trains.
• Prices for special fares and passes on this Web site are quoted in yen.
• Translations of the transportation conditions into English, Chinese and Korean are for the convenience of JR East's customers. If there are any contradictions in the English/Chinese/Korean transportation conditions, the Japanese version will be regarded as the official text.
• Usage of this pass is restricted by the preceding conditions, passenger transportation agreements stipulated by JR East, and the laws of Japan, which, if violated, will result in the pass being rendered invalid and confiscated, and a fine being due for three times the amount of fares/charges for all routes operated by JR East.
• This Web site provides information on special fares and passes from JR East, but no guarantee is made that information is provided for all such products, nor that the information on this Web site is current.
