We are developing a system to propose quick return
to the regular schedule when train service has been disrupted. The
purpose of that is to keep the impact on passengers to a minimum and
restore the system to the normal train schedule. The dispatcher's
office where the decision is made to cancel trains and change routes
must see that trains run at reasonable intervals so as to minimize
passenger inconvenience. The crew office that manages drivers and
conductors must efficiently arrange and order crew. Furthermore, the
railcar depot must provide cars appropriate to each line and its level
of traffic. Implementing this system involves developing a system
to support those functions, networking it, and proposing an optimum
quick recovery of the daily train schedule. |
