| Efforts in increasing safety and security are necessary for passengers to use railways with sense of security. We are thus researching indicators for quantitatively assessing safety and security. Risk that threatens safety can generally be expressed as a combination of the probability of an event and the severity of damage. We believe, however, that we can assess security by adding sense of value of passengers. Assessing security will thus allow us to conduct safety measures that take into account the needs of passengers. |
