Trains are running with a voltage of 1,500V on the direct current sections of the conventional lines. The work to inspect the electric lines supplying power to the pantographs of the trains (the contact wires), etc. is carried out after switching off power to the electric lines in order to prevent electric shock accidents. We were already confirming power off using contact-type detectors and attached the earth device, but now we have developed detectors of a non-contact type with the objective of carrying out confirmations more safely and easily from the ground.
In particular inside large-scale stations, etc. multiple tracks come in and we sometimes implement the work with the adjacent line is still live. We have been able to improve the safety of work carried out in this kind of environment. |
