Development of Rail Bond for Erecting Girder Bridges during Construction

Sometimes the tracks are changed to a temporary girder bridge during construction underneath subway and other tracks. Because these kinds of girder bridges must be removed and replaced countless times from the beginning of preparations through the completing of construction, the rail bonds used between the joints of single rails must also be repeatedly removed and replaced, making it clear that a kind of rail bond that could be installed and removed multiple times was needed.

We had been using special CZ rail bonds for replacement operations, but using them required that rails be replaced far in advance, greatly increasing the scale of any construction work. To simplify operations, shorten construction time and reduce costs, we developed an intermediate connection terminal that can be inserted into existing rail bonds, eliminating the need to replace the rails.
