Kanchogai-dori in Towada, Famous for its Rows of Cherry Trees
Rows of pine and cherry trees continue at a breadth of 36 meters for a total length of 1.1 kilometers, with roughly 160 cherry trees and 170 pine trees planted. In 1986 this received the designation of One of Japan's Top One Hundred Roads, and then in 1992 it was designated as one of the New One Hundred Views of Japan. When the cherry trees are in bloom and at Christmastime, the rows are all lit up, making them very pretty.
Note: The cherry blossoms bloom between late April and early May.

Towada Art Center, where You Can Experience New Art
With each single work of art having its own dedicated room to be displayed in, which is then connected to other rooms by glass corridors, the museum from the outside gives the appearance of being its own little town. Visitors to the museum wander about its streets as they visit the rooms, enabling them to view the works on display in a completely unique way here.
