Hirosaki Castle, located within Hirosaki Park, is designated as one of the top 100 locations in Japan for cherry blossom viewing, and when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, it is a very popular spot for tourists, both from within Japan and from abroad. There is also a hands-on tourist facility where you can experience Hirosaki neputa, making for a very enjoyable day trip to Hirosaki.

The Newly Renovated Shin-Aomori Station
Shin-Aomori Station, which was just renovated in December 2010, is the Shinkansen gateway to Aomori City. As the final stop on the Tohoku Shinkansen Line, it is currently the northernmost Shinkansen station in Japan (as of April 2011).

Apple Park, in Hirosaki, Japan's Number One Producer of Apples
This park takes apples as its theme since Hirosaki City is Japan's largest producer of apples. In addition to viewing apple blossoms and, when the season is right, experiencing apple picking, the attractions here include a shop with some 1,200 different apple items for sale, as well as an observation deck. The park allows visitors to touch, learn from and play with apples.

The Tsugaru Neputa-mura Village is a hands-on visitors' facility in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, that is based on Hirosaki neputa. You can also buy souvenirs!

Hirosaki Castle, also Famous for Its Cherry Blossoms
Since 1903, about 2,600 cherry blossom trees have been planted within this park. Many tourists come each year to the Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival. This park is designated as one of the 100 best locations in Japan for cherry blossom-viewing.
Note: The cherry blossoms bloom between late April and early May.
